Managing Director, Open Hand Theater (Syracuse, NY) January 2014 and onward

  • Oversaw daily operations for the ONLY puppet theater in Central New York!

  • Designed and built puppets for the new play Three Blessed Brothers (2012) and worked closely with the playwright through a revision and re-design workshop in 2013.
  • Designed, built and directed The Nativity Story, a Czech marionette piece.
  • Designed, built and directed Strega Nona and Little Red Riding Hood goes to the North Pole, both glove puppet pieces

Prop and Puppet Design, Company One (Boston, MA) October 2011 – April 2013

  • Designed, built, sourced and secured a variety of props for The Brother/Sister Plays (fall 2011) and Love Person (spring 2013)
  • Designed and built puppets for She Kills Monsters (spring 2014)
  • Provided design research and technical drawings to the director and design team

Properties Design & Construction, Metro Stage Company (Boston, MA) March 2011 – June 2011

  • Designed, built, sourced and secured a variety of props for the musical Bat Boy, performed at the Cambridge YMCA
  • Worked closely with the director to realize her vision of realism blended with abstraction
  • Created a variety of animal puppets with spectacular blood effects that triggered on cue during the show

Production Manager, Boston Opera Collaborative (Boston, MA) November 2010 – March 2011

  • Provided management for the production of The Cunning Little Vixen, performed at the Tower Auditorium at MassArt
  • Interviewed and hired artistic staff from a large pool of applicants
  • Scheduled production meetings around complex personal schedules and provided detailed notes for followup

  • Worked alongside BU and Huntington Theatre staff to manage student productions in multiple venues
  • Tracked budgets and reimbursements for multiple shows at once, including shows managed by other staff

  • Allocated production budgets as small as $1,000 and as great as $50,000
  • Processed advances and reimbursements, and tracked spending for multiple departments
  • Developed and implemented contract language for actors, understudies, designers and crew
  • Worked with Actor’s Equity Association and United Scenic Artists to prepare contracts and schedules that were acceptable to the unions
  • Prepared end of season budget reports for the Executive Director

Stage Manager, Silk Road Theater Project (Chicago, IL)  September 2005 – July 2009

  • Kept a detailed record of the blocking and technical needs of the production during the rehearsal process
  • Provided daily reports to the production team
  • Facilitated communication between departments and assisted departments in finding the most effective way to meet the production’s goals
  • Ran sound, lights, and special effects during each performance
  • Supervised weekly setup and cleanup crews during the run of the production

Assistant Stage Manager, Chautauqua Theatre Company (Chautauqua, NY) 2003-2005

  • Served on a team of 2 Stage Managers and 2 Assistant Stage Managers to run 4 mainstage productions and 2 staged readings each summer
